Over the course of the initial four-year ‘Cult of Saints in Wales’ project (2013–17) we held a series of afternoon events at locations around Wales at Bangor, St Davids, Llantwit Major and Holywell.

This spring we are back by popular demand! The project was approached to collaborate on a similar event at Llanbadarn Fawr, as a local working group are co-ordinating a series of events in 2017 that commemorate the coming of St Padarn to the area in 517.

On 1 April there will be a series of talks about St Padarn and the saints of Wales at 2.00 in the Church of St Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, drawing on evidence from medieval literature, place names and visual culture. The speakers will be Gerald Morgan, Paul Russell, David Parsons, Martin Crampin and Peter Lord. To book a place please contact Angharad Elias.

The new project ‘Vitae Sanctorum Cambriae’ (The Latin Lives of the Welsh Saints) will also be holding some similar events in Wales and England over the course of the project.
