16. Moliant i’r Seintiau
edited by Eurig Salisbury
The only surviving copy of this poem was made in Pen 54, probably by the poet himself, Huw Cae Llwyd. This manuscript contains the earliest major collection of the poetry of the Cywyddwyr, most of which is associated with the south-east (particularly Brycheiniog) and was recorded c.1480 by the poets themselves, who include Dafydd Epynt, Hywel Dafi and Hywel Swrdwal. Except for a few lines (see ll. 11n, 33n, 42n), the text is in excellent condition.
Line order: 1–60, 59–60, 61–6.
